Difficulties tend not to be caused by a single factor and usually are due to an interaction between several strands of abilities and skills.

The overall pattern of how these strands interact with each other provides our unique cognitive profile of strengths and weaknesses.

An educational assessment is useful in that it can identify the interaction of strands contributing to a learning problem such as dyslexia (literacy difficulties) or dyscalculia (numeric difficulties) or dyspraxia (coordination and organisational difficulties, sometimes including verbal difficulties); dysgraphia (writing difficulties); or ADD/ ADHD (attention and/ or hyperactivity disorders) and offer practical advice and strategies.
